Grand Prize WinnersCongratulations to the Grand Prize winners and all those who submitted entries in our 2011 RTA Photo Contest! Our sincere thanks to everyone who participated. The First Grand Prize was chosen by the RTA Executive Committee from among the winners of all 5 contest Phases. They awarded the $250.00 E-Gift card to Brad Brenneman of Norfolk Southern in Roanoke, Virginia for capturing this fine view of German-stacked, untreated ties in Goshen, VA with the Shenandoah mountains in the background. Second and Third Grand Prize photos were randomly selected from the remaining 1st and 2nd prize winners of the 5 Phases. Second Grand Prize and the $150.00 E-Gift card goes to Jason Feagans with National Salvage and Service, Corp. in Clear Creek, Indiana. This shot shows railroad ties being unloaded from railcars and loaded into a huge grinder before heading to a cogeneration customer in Selma, Ala. Third Grand Prize of a $100.00 E-Gift card is awarded to Jeffrey Lippincott of Tank Fab in Rocky Mount, NC. This image at the Amerities South facility in Hope, Ark., shows the Tank Fab transfer deck being loaded with a new tram of untreated crossties waiting to be treated. The Honorable Mention Grand Prize was randomly chosen from all the Honorable Mention winning photos in the 5 contest Phases. The Honorable Mention Grand Prize of a $100.00 E-Gift card goes to Andy Andreykovich of Appalachian Timber Services in Pittsburgh, PA. These details were captured at the ATS plant in Sutton, WV. Two other final prizes were randomly selected from the total collection of photos that were submitted for the entire year's contests. $50.00 E-Gift cards go to Lance Ramsey of Mechanicsburg Lumber Company and to Cameron Chapman, son of BNSF Railway employee Ed Chapman. Again, we genuinely appreciate every one of our members who grabbed a camera and sought out photos to help illustrate each portion of the Wood Crosstie Story. You brought creativity, color, and perspective to this fascinating industry. |
