2022 RTA Photo Contest

We Want Your Photos in Our Calendar!

in 2011 we sponsored a photo contest. The photos our members submitted were amazing. We would like to create a wall calendar for 2023 and we want our members to be a part of it!

The contest will take place throughout 2022. Submit photos for consideration to [email protected]. The RTA team and the Executive Committee will review and choose the photos best suited to be in our first ever wall calendar. We invite members to submit photos from all phases of crosstie production- from tree to track and beyond.

Photo Contest Rules

  1. Photos submitted must be illustrations of the wood crosstie story 
  2. All photos must be from RTA members and submitted electronically.
  3. All photos received must be the original work of the submitting RTA member or your immediate family and free from copyright restrictions. By submitting a photo, you agree that RTA may, at its discretion, use the photo for the wall calendar, publish it in the Crossties magazine, use the photo on its web site, and use it for promotional purposes of the association without monetary compensation. 
  4. Photos for the calendar will be selected members of the RTA Executive Committee and the RTA staff. 

Photo Specifications

  1. Do not submit photos with embedded captions or dates in the field of view. Please crop any photo to eliminate text or dates and submit descriptions separately.
  2. By submitting a photo, you certify that it is your work or that of an immediate family member, is free from copyright or trademark infringement, and may be used by RTA for publishing in print or web content for any promotional efforts of the association in perpetuity.
  3. If your photo contains recognizable individuals, your submission is certification that you have their explicit permission for publication. These certifications are irrevocable once you have submitted your photo to this association's contest.
  4. We strongly urge that all photos be submitted with only minor color, contrast, and cropping corrections. We will not consider over-manipulated images that have had anything removed or added as to be deceptive. No fraudulent, defamatory, explicit, provocative, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content should be submitted.
